My Little Pup
I once came home one day,
My old lab was fading away.
I knew that sometime he
would have to leave,
But not now, not here, not me.
So he went up to doggie Heaven,
Even though he was only 2 years past seven.
Now I have a brand new pup,
One who every morning licks my face to get me up.
I love her so much as a friend and a pet,
I hate to see her get shots at the vet.
She is the perfect little pup, and she's cute as a
button,
Even if, when she eats, she is quite a glutton.
Buttonz, as you can probably see,
Is very extra special to me.
Not that I want to forget about Buster,
But now with Buttonz I am not so flustered.
I love my little pup so,
Though I had to let my old lab go.
Now he's in a better place,
Where cats, cars & mailmen he can chase.
But now my very cute sweetheart of a pup,
Was put on Earth to cheer me up.
So thanks whoever put her up as a stray,
I saved a little pup from being put to sleep one day.
Now I must tell that my little tidbit,
Often throws a hissy fit.
This we call psycho dog,
She leaps up and down, higher than a frog.
I still love her, even if she isn't as innocent as she
looks,
She loves me (and the way Daddy cooks).
I still will never forget my beloved lab,
Or think about the way he was suffering, since it
will make me sad.
But now I have a little pup,
Who is here to cheer me up.
Buttonz isn't housebroken as of now,
(Though she isn't fat, I think she ate way too much
chow)!
It makes her have to potty on the rug,
I then take her outside, but only on her leash does
she tug.
She's always eager to lick my face,
Especially after I eat; She loves that taste.
When she goes nuts or sniffs all about,
Either she is playing, or it's time to go out.
I still will remember my sweet old black
lab dog,
Who wasn't very energetic or jumpy like my new half dog half frog.
Buster's death was in the past,
It seemed like he went way too fast.
But now I have my little pup,
Who is here to cheer me up.
